Fried Bologna Sandwiches

Ingredients:

– 4 slices of bread (white or whole wheat)
– 4 slices of bologna
– 1/4 cup of butter or non-stick cooking spray
– 1 tablespoon of mayonnaise or spread (optional)
– Lettuce, tomato, cheese, and pickles (optional)

Instructions:

1. Butter or spray one side of each bread slice.
2. Place one slice of bread, buttered side down, in a skillet or griddle over medium heat.
3. Place one slice of bologna on top of the bread.
4. Place another slice of bread, buttered side up, on top of the bologna.
5. Cook for 2-3 minutes or until the bread is golden brown and the bologna is crispy.
6. Flip the sandwich over and cook for another 2-3 minutes or until the other side is also golden brown.
7. Repeat with the remaining ingredients.
8. Serve hot with mayonnaise, lettuce, tomato, cheese, and pickles if desired.

Tips and Variations:

– Use a panini press or grill for a crispy and evenly cooked sandwich.
– Add cheese, such as cheddar or American, for an extra burst of flavor.
– Use different types of bread, such as sourdough or ciabatta, for a unique texture.
– Add some sliced onions, bell peppers, or jalapeños for extra flavor.
– Use turkey or veggie bologna for a healthier alternative.
