Ingredients
– 2-3 large potatoes
– 1/2 cup vegetable oil
– 1/2 teaspoon salt
– 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
– 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder (optional)
– 1/4 teaspoon paprika (optional)
Instructions
1. Preheat oven: Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
2. Wash and peel potatoes: Wash and peel the potatoes, then cut them into long, thin triangles.
3. Parboil potatoes: Place the potato triangles in a large pot of salted water. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 5-7 minutes, or until slightly tender.
4. Drain and dry: Drain the potatoes and pat them dry with paper towels to remove excess moisture.
5. Bake potatoes: Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or aluminum foil. Arrange the potato triangles in a single layer and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until cooked through.
6. Heat oil for frying: Heat the vegetable oil in a deep frying pan or a deep fryer to 350°F (180°C).
7. Fry potatoes: Carefully place the baked potato triangles in the hot oil. Fry for 2-3 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and crispy.
8. Drain excess oil: Remove the fried potatoes from the oil with a slotted spoon and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
9. Season with salt, pepper, and spices: Sprinkle the fried potatoes with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and paprika (if using).
10. Serve: Serve the triangle-shaped fried yeast-free baked potatoes hot and enjoy!
