For the Cake:
– 1 1/2 cups (190g) all-purpose flour

– 1 cup (235ml) whole milk

For the Pineapple Buttercream Frosting:
– 1 cup (200g) unsalted butter, softened
– 2 cups (400g) powdered sugar
– 1/2 teaspoon salt
– 2 tablespoons pineapple juice
– 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
Instructions:
To Make the Cake:
1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C). Grease two 9-inch (23cm) round cake pans and line the bottoms with parchment paper.
2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
3. In a large bowl, whisk together the butter, milk, eggs, and vanilla extract.
4. Add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix until just combined.
5. Fold in the crushed pineapple.
6. Divide the batter evenly between the prepared pans and smooth the tops.
7. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
8. Let the cakes cool in the pans for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
To Make the Pineapple Buttercream Frosting:
1. Beat the butter until creamy.
2. Gradually add the powdered sugar, beating until smooth and creamy.
3. Beat in the salt, pineapple juice, and vanilla extract.
To Assemble the Cake:
1. Place one of the cooled cakes on a serving plate or cake stand.
2. Spread a layer of pineapple buttercream frosting on top of the cake.
3. Place the second cake on top and frost the entire cake with the remaining frosting.
