Ingredients
– 2 cups all-purpose flour
– 4 teaspoons baking powder
– 1 teaspoon salt
– 1/4 cup granulated sugar
– 2 large eggs
– 1 cup milk
– 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
– 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
Instructions
1. Preheat your waffle iron according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar.
3. In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract.
4. Add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and stir until just combined. The batter should still be slightly lumpy.
5. The batter will thicken as it rests. Let it rest for 10-15 minutes.
6. Once the waffle iron is hot, pour about 1/4 to 1/3 cup of batter onto the center of the iron.
7. Close the waffle iron and cook for 3-5 minutes, or until the waffles are golden brown and crispy.
8. Repeat with the remaining batter, greasing the waffle iron with cooking spray as needed.
9. Serve the waffles hot with your favorite toppings, such as fresh fruit, whipped cream, maple syrup, or powdered sugar.
