Ingredients
– 1 cup olive oil
– 1/2 cup soy sauce
– 1/4 cup Worcestershire sauce
– 2 cloves garlic, minced
– 1 tablespoon grated fresh ginger
– 1 tablespoon brown sugar
– 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
– 1 teaspoon dried thyme
– 1/2 teaspoon salt
– 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
– 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)
Instructions
1. Combine marinade ingredients: In a blender or food processor, combine olive oil, soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, garlic, ginger, brown sugar, smoked paprika, thyme, salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper (if using). Blend until smooth.
2. Place steak in marinade: Place your desired steak (such as ribeye, strip loin, or filet mignon) in a large zip-top plastic bag or a shallow dish. Pour the marinade over the steak, turning to coat evenly.
3. Refrigerate: Seal the bag or cover the dish with plastic wrap. Refrigerate for at least 2 hours or overnight (8-12 hours).
4. Grill or pan-fry: Preheat your grill to medium-high heat or heat a skillet over medium-high heat. Remove the steak from the marinade, letting any excess liquid drip off. Grill or pan-fry the steak to your desired level of doneness.
5. Let rest: Once cooked, remove the steak from heat and let rest for 5-10 minutes before slicing and serving.
