Chocolate Rice Krispie Balls π«
Ingredients
- 3 cups Rice Krispies cereal
- 1/2 cup peanut butter (creamy or crunchy)
- 1/4 cup honey or corn syrup
- 1/2 cup chocolate chips (semi-sweet or milk chocolate)
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)
- Sprinkles or shredded coconut for decoration (optional)
Instructions
- Melt the Base Ingredients:
- In a medium saucepan over low heat, combine the peanut butter and honey (or corn syrup). Stir continuously until smooth and melted.
- Remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract (if using).
- Mix with Cereal:
- In a large mixing bowl, pour the melted peanut butter mixture over the Rice Krispies cereal. Stir until the cereal is evenly coated.
- Form the Balls:
- Using clean hands or a small cookie scoop, shape the mixture into bite-sized balls. Place them on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
- Melt the Chocolate:
- In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the chocolate chips in 20-second intervals, stirring in between until smooth.
- Dip and Decorate:
- Dip each Rice Krispie ball into the melted chocolate, coating half or entirely.
- Place the balls back on the parchment-lined tray and, if desired, top with sprinkles or shredded coconut before the chocolate sets.
- Chill and Serve:
- Refrigerate the tray for 20β30 minutes until the chocolate hardens.
