cranberry and turkey stuffing balls

Posted on December 25, 2024 by admin

Ingredients

– 2 cups stale bread, cut into 1-inch cubes
– 1/2 cup chopped fresh or frozen cranberries
– 1/2 cup diced cooked turkey
– 1/4 cup chopped celery
– 1/4 cup chopped onion
– 2 tablespoons butter, melted
– 1 teaspoon poultry seasoning
– 1/2 teaspoon salt
– 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
– 1/4 cup chicken broth

Instructions

1. Preheat oven: Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
2. Mix bread and cranberries: In a large bowl, combine bread cubes and chopped cranberries.
3. Add turkey and vegetables: Add diced turkey, chopped celery, and chopped onion to the bowl.
4. Mix wet ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk together melted butter, poultry seasoning, salt, pepper, and chicken broth.
5. Combine wet and dry ingredients: Pour the wet ingredients over the dry ingredients and mix until the bread is evenly coated.
6. Form stuffing balls: Use your hands to shape the mixture into small balls, about 1 1/2 inches (3.8 cm) in diameter. You should end up with around 20-25 stuffing balls.
7. Bake: Place the stuffing balls on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, leaving about 1 inch (2.5 cm) of space between each ball. Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until lightly browned.
8. Serve: Serve warm alongside your favorite holiday dishes.

Variations

– Herby stuffing balls: Mix in some chopped fresh herbs like parsley, sage, or thyme for added flavor.
– Cheesy stuffing balls: Sprinkle some grated cheddar or parmesan cheese over the stuffing balls before baking.
– Bacon-wrapped stuffing balls: Wrap each stuffing ball with a piece of bacon before baking for a smoky, savory flavor.
