Ingredients
– 1 lb (450g) ground beef
– 1/2 cup (115g) finely chopped onion
– 2 cloves of garlic, minced
– 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
– 1 teaspoon dried thyme
– 1/2 teaspoon salt
– 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
– 1/4 cup (30g) grated Swiss cheese
– 1/4 cup (60g) French onion soup mix
– 1/4 cup (60ml) beef broth
Instructions
1. In a large bowl, combine ground beef, chopped onion, garlic, Worcestershire sauce, thyme, salt, and pepper. Mix well with your hands or a spoon until just combined.
2. Transfer the meat mixture to the Crockpot.
3. Sprinkle the grated Swiss cheese over the meat mixture.
4. In a small bowl, mix the French onion soup mix and beef broth. Pour the mixture over the meatloaf.
5. Cook on LOW for 6-8 hours or HIGH for 3-4 hours.
6. About 30 minutes before serving, place additional slices of Swiss cheese on top of the meatloaf.
7. Cover the Crockpot and cook for an additional 30 minutes, until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
8. Serve hot and enjoy!
