Ground Turkey Teriyaki Stir Fry

Ingredients:

– 1 lb (450g) ground turkey
– 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
– 1 onion, diced
– 2 cloves garlic, minced
– 1 cup (115g) mixed bell peppers (e.g., green, red, yellow)
– 2 cups (200g) broccoli florets
– 1/4 cup (60ml) teriyaki sauce
– 2 teaspoons soy sauce
– 1 teaspoon grated ginger
– Salt and pepper, to taste
– Cooked rice or noodles, for serving
– Sesame seeds and chopped green onions, for garnish (optional)

Instructions:

1. Prepare ingredients: Cut the onion, bell peppers, and broccoli into bite-sized pieces. Mince the garlic and ginger.
2. Cook ground turkey: In a large skillet or wok, heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil over medium-high heat. Add the ground turkey and cook, breaking it up with a spoon, until it’s no longer pink, about 5-7 minutes.
3. Add aromatics: Add the diced onion and minced garlic to the skillet. Cook until the onion is translucent, about 3-4 minutes.
4. Add mixed vegetables: Add the mixed bell peppers and broccoli to the skillet. Cook, stirring occasionally, until the vegetables are tender-crisp, about 4-5 minutes.
5. Add teriyaki sauce and seasonings: Pour the teriyaki sauce, soy sauce, and grated ginger into the skillet. Stir to combine and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes.
6. Season and serve: Season the stir-fry with salt and pepper to taste. Serve over cooked rice or noodles and garnish with sesame seeds and chopped green onions, if desired.

Tips:

– Use lean ground turkey to reduce fat content.
– Customize the recipe by adding your favorite vegetables or protein sources (e.g., shrimp, chicken).
– For a thicker sauce, mix 1 tablespoon of cornstarch with 2 tablespoons of water and add it to the skillet with the teriyaki sauce.
