ham and cheese croissant rolls

Posted on December 28, 2024 by admin

Ingredients

– 1 package of croissant dough (homemade or store-bought)
– 1/2 cup ham, thinly sliced
– 1/2 cup grated cheese (such as Swiss, cheddar, or mozzarella)
– 1 tablespoon butter, softened
– Salt and pepper to taste
– Optional: chopped herbs like parsley or thyme

Instructions

1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
2. Roll out the croissant dough to a thickness of about 1/4 inch (6 mm).
3. Cut the dough into rectangles, about 4 inches (10 cm) wide and 6 inches (15 cm) long.
4. Place a few slices of ham and a sprinkle of cheese on one half of each rectangle, leaving a 1/2 inch (1 cm) border around the edges.
5. Fold the other half of the dough over the filling, pressing the edges to seal.
6. Use a knife or pastry brush to create a decorative edge around the rolls.
7. Place the rolls on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, leaving about 1 inch (2.5 cm) of space between each roll.
8. Brush the tops of the rolls with the softened butter.
9. Bake the rolls for 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown.
10. Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes before serving.

Tips

– Use high-quality ham and cheese for the best flavor.
– Don’t overfill the rolls, as the cheese can melt and escape during baking.
– If you want to get fancy, you can add some chopped herbs or a sprinkle of paprika on top of the rolls before baking.
– These rolls are perfect for breakfast, lunch, or as a snack. Enjoy!
