Ingredients:
– 1 lb ground beef
– 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
– 1 egg
– 1/4 cup finely chopped onion
– 2 cloves garlic, minced
– 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
– 1 tsp salt
– 1/2 tsp black pepper
– 1/4 tsp paprika
Instructions:
1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
2. In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, onion, garlic, Worcestershire sauce, salt, pepper, and paprika. Mix well with your hands or a wooden spoon until just combined.
3. Divide the mixture into 4 equal portions and shape each into a oval patty.
4. Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add 2 tbsp of oil and cook the patties for 3-4 minutes per side, or until browned.
5. Transfer the patties to a baking dish and bake for 15-20 minutes, or until cooked to your desired level of doneness.
Mashed Potatoes
Ingredients:
– 3-4 large potatoes, peeled and chopped into 1-inch cubes
– 1/4 cup milk or half-and-half
– 2 tbsp butter
– Salt and pepper, to taste
Instructions:
1. Place the chopped potatoes in a large pot and add enough cold water to cover them. Bring to a boil over high heat, then reduce the heat to medium-low and simmer for 15-20 minutes, or until the potatoes are tender when pierced with a fork.
2. Drain the potatoes and return them to the pot. Add the milk, butter, salt, and pepper, and mash the potatoes with a potato masher or a fork until they’re smooth and creamy.
Green Beans
Ingredients:
– 1 lb fresh or frozen green beans, trimmed
– 2 tbsp butter
– Salt and pepper, to taste
Instructions:
1. Bring a pot of salted water to a boil. Blanch the green beans for 3-5 minutes, or until they’re tender but still crisp.
2. Drain the green beans and return them to the pot. Add the butter, salt, and pepper, and toss the green beans to coat.
Havarti Rolls
Ingredients:
– 1 package of frozen dinner rolls (such as Rhodes)
– 1/4 cup Havarti cheese, sliced
– 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
Instructions:
1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
2. Place the frozen dinner rolls on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
3. Brush the tops of the rolls with the beaten egg for a golden glaze.
4. Bake the rolls for 12-15 minutes, or until golden brown.
5. While the rolls are still warm, slice them in half and fill with sliced Havarti cheese.
Assembly
1. Serve the Salisbury steak with mashed potatoes, green beans, and a Havarti roll on the side. Enjoy!
