stir fry beef broccoli

Ingredients

– 1 pound beef (sirloin or flank steak), sliced into thin strips
– 2 cups broccoli florets
– 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
– 2 cloves garlic, minced
– 1 tablespoon grated fresh ginger
– 1 tablespoon soy sauce
– 1 tablespoon oyster sauce (optional)
– 1 teaspoon sesame oil
– Salt and pepper, to taste
– Cooked rice or noodles, for serving

Instructions

1. Prepare ingredients: Slice beef into thin strips. Cut broccoli into florets.
2. Heat oil and cook beef: Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add beef and cook until browned, about 3-4 minutes. Remove from skillet and set aside.
3. Cook aromatics: In the same skillet, add remaining 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil. Add garlic and ginger and cook until fragrant, about 30 seconds.
4. Add broccoli: Add broccoli to skillet and cook until tender-crisp, about 3-4 minutes.
5. Return beef and add sauces: Add cooked beef back to skillet. Stir in soy sauce, oyster sauce (if using), and sesame oil. Cook for an additional 1-2 minutes, until sauce has thickened.
6. Season and serve: Season with salt and pepper to taste. Serve over cooked rice or noodles.

Tips and Variations

– Use a wok or large skillet with a non-stick surface to prevent sticking.
– Add other vegetables, such as bell peppers or carrots, to the stir-fry.
– Use different seasonings, such as hoisin sauce or sriracha, to change up the flavor.
– Serve with sliced green onions and sesame seeds for added flavor and texture.
